The Fairies, all but SELENE and DARINE, are discovered discontentedly watching the entrance to SELENE's bower.

	With Ethais philandering,
		Our excellent Queen No doubt has been
	In roseate dreams,
		No doubt has been
	In roseate dreams meandering.



		So very unfit We must admit
	Is anything but
		respectable!

		For many an hour Within her bower
	With Ethais philandering,
		Our excellent Queen No doubt has been
	In roseate dreams, In roseate dreams
		No doubt has been
	In roseate dreams meandering.
		As a matter of fact A risky act,
	So obviously detectable —



	Is anything but
		respectable!

		So very unfit We must admit
	Is anything but respectable!

	A Fairy Queen who dares conventionality despise, To put it very mildly, is exceedingly unwise. Here is an act to which we cannot close our eyes, And must excite our indignation and surprise.
