Soprano Phyllis Murden toured with the D'Oyly Carte "New" Opera Company from September 1919 to May 1920, taking the small parts of Leila in Iolanthe and Vittoria in The Gondoliers in addition to her chorus duties.

She was married to fellow D'Oyly Carte chorister Nelson Brontay. After leaving the Company, she and Brontay toured the vaierty stage together for several years.
