THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY
Frank Morrison (1894-95)
Frank Morrison was a chorister with D'Oyly Carte's American Utopia Limited Company, appearing in New York and Boston between March and June 1894.
It seems he eventually made his way to the Savoy, where Mr. F. Morrison succeeded J. Bowden Haswell in the role of Blazzo with the main D'Oyly Carte Opera Company in the first production of The Chieftain in January 1895. The Chieftain ran from December 12, 1894 to March 16, 1895, and it seems logical to conclude that Morrison was in the chorus when that opera opened.
Morrison later toured with J. W. Boughton's Company in Gilbert & Carr's "His Excellency", appearing as Governor Griffenfeld in Exeter in September 1895.
