Bartle McCarthy (1890)

Bartle McCarthy (or Macarthy) was Francesco when D'Oyly Carte's New York Gondoliers Company opened at New York's Park Theatre on January 7, 1890. The production was not a success, and when it was remounted at Palmer's Theatre in February, McCarthy had been relegated to the chorus where he remained for the balance of the run.
