Beatrice May (born Beatrice Clapperton) was a soprano chorister with the D'Oyly Carte Principal Repertory Opera Company between September 1913 and March 1914. Her brief D'Oyly Carte career was preceded by a two-year dramatic stint with Arthur Bourchier's Company on tour and at London's Garrick Theatre. By March 1914 she was playing Yum-Yum in an amateur production of The Mikado in her native Glasgow. She continued sing principal soprano roles in Scotland before emigrating to Canada with the husband in 1919.

Her sister Mary performed with the D'Oyly Carte "New" Opera Company from May 1920 to June 1925 under the stage name of Norah Wilcocks.
