Fannie Lovering made her first appearance on the New York Stage as a concert artist at the Academy of Music on September 18, 1878. She gave several concerts in the Greater New York area between 1878 and 1882, but had only one traceable engagement in the dramatic field. She was understudy to Blanche Roosevelt as Mabel with D'Oyly Carte's First American Pirates of Penzance Company, going on for Miss Roosevelt on occasion when the Company toured New England in April 1880.
