J. Edward Fraser toured the British Isles as the Sultan in The Rose of Persia with D'Oyly Carte Opera Company "D" from April to December 1900. It was his only recorded engagement with the Carte organization.

He later appeared in several London shows between 1904 and 1913 including the musicals Lady Madcap (Prince of Wales's, 1904-05), Mr. Popple (Shaftesbury, 1905-06), and, most notably, Our Miss Gibbs (Gaiety, January 1909-December 1910, a run of 636 performances), in which he appeared as Lord Eynsford and sang the popular song "My Yorkshire Lassie."
