Mary Forest (1937-44)

Soprano Mary Forest joined the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company as a chorister in May 1937. In January 1942 she replaced the departing Marjorie Flinn as Lady Ella in Patience and Kate in The Yeomen of the Guard. Miss Forest played these parts for the next two-and-a-half years, until she left the Company in July 1944. In 1945 she married D'Oyly Carte tenor Herbert Garry.
