THE D'OYLY CARTE OPERA COMPANY

(Mr.) G. Fawcett (1878)

Mr. G. Fawcett was a chorister with the touring Comedy Opera Company Ltd., under the management of Richard D'Oyly Carte from March to August 1878. The Company gave the first provincial production of The Sorcerer (along with Trial by Jury) in Great Britain and Ireland.

He is almost certainly not the famous American stage and screen actor George D. Fawcett (1860-1939), who reportedly made his acting debut in 1886.
