Amy Farrell (1891-92)

Amy Kathleen Farrell made her first appearance in London as Lady Jane in a single matinee performance of the one-act burlesque Good Queen Bess at the Vaudeville, June 3, 1891. She then joined the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company, and was in the chorus at the Savoy for the first production of The Nautch Girl (June 30, 1891-January 16, 1892). Miss Farrell remained in the chorus for the opening of The Vicar of Bray (January 28, 1892), then in March succeeded Louise Rowe as Cynthia in that opera.

She left the D'Oyly Carte and the Savoy in June 1892, after The Vicar of Bray, transferring to the Prince of Wales's where she was Kitty in the farcical operetta Did You Ring? (June-July 1892). She later took several parts in London:the Spirit of the Bells in the pantomime Dick Whittington (Olympic, 1892-93), Queen Mab in the panto Santa Claus (Lyceum, 1894-95), Kate Earle in the comedy The "J.P." (Strand, 1898), and Millicent Warfield in the musical farce A Good Time; or, Skipped by the Light of the Moon (Opera Comique, 1899).
