Contralto Lois Elaine was in the chorus of Song of Norway when it was revived at the Palace Theatre, London, July-September 1949.

She joined the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company in September 1951. During the 1951-52 season she was the regular Inez in The Gondoliers and shared the Lady Saphir in Patience with Shelagh Duffy and Audrey Reed.From August 1952 until she left the Company in June 1955 her duties were limited to the chorus.
