Lillian Coomber (1906-07)

Lillian Eliza Coomber was engaged to play Elsie Maynard in The Yeomen of the Guard and Gianetta in The Gondoliers for D'Oyly Carte's First London Repertory Season, beginning December 8, 1906, at the Savoy. While the Season ran until August 24, 1907, Miss Coomber left in June and was replaced by Clara Dow (as Elsie) and Ruby Gray (as Gianetta).
Her only other appearances on the London Stage were as Micaela in Carmen with the Carl Rosa Company at Covent Garden in 1897, and as Margaret in Richard Strauss's Fauersnot at His Majesty's Theatre in 1910. In 1901 she was on tour in Australia and New Zealand with Musgrove's Grand Opera Company, appearing as Senta in Wagner's The Flying Dutchman. She also toured England with the Carl Rosa and Moody-Manners opera companies.
