Florence Bankhardt was born Florence Emma Hawksworth. She appeared at New York's Star Theatre in October 1888 as Calypso, Queen of the Island, in H. P. Stephens and Edward Solomon's Penelope with Lydia Thompson's Grand English Burlesque Company.
Miss Bankhardt replaced Atalie Claire as Hollee Beebee in The Nautch Girl on tour with Mr. DOyly Cartes D Company in September 1891. The tour, and her DOyly Carte career, ended December 12.
Her only known appearance on the London stage was in the title role in Cigarette, which opened at the Lyric Theatre in September 1892.
