Adam Cuerden has given us a scan of the first edition of the Vocal Score, published by Metzler in 1877. Copies of this score are extremely rare as it was replaced in 1884 when the opera was revised for revival at the Savoy Theatre. Nineteenth century American scores are textually, but not typographically, similar to this score which includes the extended Act I finale, the original opening to Act II. It does not include the Overture nor Alexis' Act II ballad, "Thou hast the power", referred to in most scores as "It is not love"
It is broken it into two parts for ease of downloading.
