No 39 -- Winter 1992–3 Edited by Michael Walters
I apologise for the late appearance of this edition of GG. This was due to several factors. Firstly, I was in two stage productions in the autumn/winter of 1992, TIMON OF ATHENS in October, and ALICE IN WONDERLAND just before Christmas. This involved me in rehearsals and performances continuously from my return from Ireland in early September almost to Christmas. Secondly, I was working very hard trying to correct proofs, revise text, etc., for a book on bird's eggs, which was heavily behind schedule. Not to mention my full time job at the Museum. This combination meant that no Gilbert and Sullivan matters were attended to at all during this period. For those of you who did not get proper replies to letters that also was the reason, and I apologise. I hope things will soon get back to normal.
