No. 8 - Entr'acte and Duet - Josephine and Marquis
MIDI File
Josephine & Marquis: | |
Travelling all day In summer weather, There's no denying is rather trying Jogging on your way for hours together, Up hill and down Through countryside and town. |
|
Marquis: | When you're dusty, cramped and weary, Oh, the journey does seem dreary. Coaches jolt and bump and sway In a reckless way. |
Josephine: | Even when you're out of them, one feels Still the jar and rattle of the wheels. |
Both: | Travelling all day, Travelling all night, As a pleasure few would recommend. We are bound to say That we shall be quite Glad to bring our journeying, our journeying completely to an end! |
Marquis: | Refreshment you must need, Come, quench your thirst at any rate! |
Josephine: | I thank you, Sir, indeed, But I am quite content to wait, Our destination must be near, Too long we should not linger here. |
Both: | Travelling all day, Travelling all night, As a pleasure few would recommend. We are bound to say That we shall be quite Glad to bring our journeying, Our journeying completely to an end! |
