No. 13 - Song - Hunni-Bun

MIDI File

Hunni-Bun: 'Tis said, that in the vernal season
The young man's fancy lightly turns
to thoughts of love, and that's the reason
We're glad when winter time adjourns.
These maidens all about me thronging
Reflect on love throughout the year,
But never with such eager longing
As when the month of June is here.
Wistaria, Wistaria,
Drooping in slender grace;
Wistaria, Wistaria,
Lift up your pretty face.
Girls: Wistaria, Wistaria,
Queen of the fair June-tide,
All: Wistaria, Wistaria,
You are my blushing bride.

Hunni-Bun: This life becomes an endless noon-day
When we can seek again the bowers,
And dwell throughout each perfect June day
Among the light and fleecy flowers.
They seem to breathe a welcome story,
And say that dull despair is dead,
And nature waits to crown with glory
This happy month when maidens wed.
Wistaria, Wistaria,
Drooping in slender grace;
Wistaria, Wistaria,
Lift up your pretty face.
Girls: Wistaria, Wistaria,
Queen of the fair June-tide,
All: Wistaria, Wistaria,
You are my blushing bride.
